Randy E. Rude Sr., 62, of Chippewa Falls, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

 

He was born on October 21, 1949 in Eau Claire to Earl and Vivian (Pederson) Rude.  He graduated from Memorial High School.  He married Susan Smola on September 16, 2006.  Randy was employed at Equity Livestock sale barn.

 

Randy had a deep passion for his family, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, boating on the Mississippi river, traveling on back country roads and horses.

 

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, Susan; mother, Vivian; two sisters, Karen (Bill) Rude- Sewilo, Kathie (Bill) Johnson; brother, Richard, two sons, Chad Rude, Randy Jr (Kari) Rude; three daughters, Miranda Rude, Jean Rude, Jane Rude; 11 grandchildren; uncle, Harvey Pederson; sister-in-law, Pat Gauvin, Rick Gauvin; best friend, Jeff (Lisa) Kno; and many other friends and relatives.

 

Randy is preceded in death by his father, Earl Rude; his mother and father-in-law, Eleanor and Richard Smola.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Smith Funeral Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. David K. Anderson officiating.  Burial to follow at Forest Hill.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral chapel.

 

Randy touched the hearts of everyone he met with open arms, a kind smile and great laughs.  Smith Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
