Michael "Mike" J. Moore, 62, of Eau Claire died on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Michael was born the son of Jack and Betty (Schaaf) Moore on October 11, 1948 in Eau Claire. He was raised in Eau Claire by his father and Bertha Moore, his living mother. He was a 1967 graduate of Eau Claire Memorial High School. He joined the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. Mike married Kristine Haddeman on January 22, 1972 in Eau Claire. He worked for Wood Motors, Trubilt Auto Body, and Truckaline Suspension Center until retiring due to ill health. Mike was a very active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, participating with Thrivent Insurance, to bring benefits to others. He was a member and past commander of VFW Post 7232 and served on the advisory council for Memorial Day parades, and various other veteran functions. Mike was always doing things for someone else.
Mike is survived by his wife, Kristine of Eau Claire; daughters, Jennifer (Chris) Gordon of Eau Claire, Amy (Mike) Weir of Eau Claire; son, John (Miranda) Moore of Baldwin; grandchildren, Alexandra, Alyssa, Victoria, Vincent, Kayla, and Zack; brother, Jim Moore of Eau Claire, sister, Betty (LaMoine) Jackson of Holcombe; living mother, Bertha Moore of Eau Claire; father-in-law, Tom "Beans" Haddeman of Eau Claire; brother-in-law, Richard Holmes of Mississippi; many other relatives and friends.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Betty Moore; sister, Joann Holmes; brother, Jack Moore; mother-in-law, Avis Haddeman; and brother-in-law, John Haddeman.
The funeral service for Mike will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 21, 2011 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church with Pastor Steven Rutter officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Smith Funeral Chapel, visitation at the church will be one hour prior to the funeral service.
Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington. Military honors at the cemetery will be conducted by VFW Post 305.
