Ronald Charles Mayer, lovingly known as Ron, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on July 21, 1949, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Ron spent nearly his entire life in the community he loved.
A 1967 graduate of Memorial High School, Ron went on to study diesel mechanics at vocational school, setting the foundation for a long and dedicated career. He worked for Northwest Equipment, NSP (now Xcel Energy), and Truck Utilities, where he was known for his strong work ethic, mechanical skill, leadership, and reliability.
On August 29, 1970, Ron married his sweetheart, Kathy Miller. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons, Eric (Susan) and Scott (Kristin); and his beloved grandchildren, Karli, Brody, Kadin, and Kellin. He was the proud son of the late Ernest and Irene (Sommerfeldt) Mayer and is also survived by his brothers, Gary and Jerry, other relatives and dear friends.
Ron had a deep love for the outdoors, whether he was golfing, fishing, hunting, or cutting wood. He also enjoyed traveling with Kathy and spending summers at their lake place in Birchwood, Wisconsin. One of his greatest joys was attending his grandchildren's sporting events, always cheering them on with pride.
Ron will be remembered for his quiet strength, his deep love for family and friends, and his sense of humor. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Evergreen Funeral Home (off Golf Road one block east of Hwy 93) with Pastor Christine Emerson officiating.
