Richard L. “Dick” Harrison, 64, of Eau Claire, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 10, 2012. He was born on July 3, 1948 in Eau Claire, to Lee and Inez (Harman) Harrison.
Richard owned and operated Lee’s Pik-up Service and Valley Waste LLC in Eau Claire for 20+ years. He was currently employed with Mack Priority Transport mail service in Eau Claire.
Since 1977, he was an active lifetime member of the Eau Claire Male Chorus, holding many officer positions, not only locally, but at the international level of the AMCA as well. He was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Eau Claire for over 50 years, singing in the church choir, playing dartball, and serving on the Board of Trustees. He also helped co-found the Epiphany Men’s Fastpitch softball team. Fastpitch softball was not only his favorite hobby, as he was both a player and a manager on numerous teams, but he also loved watching his grandchildren play softball as well. His 10 grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he was especially proud to be their “Bumpa.”
Richard is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol; children, Amy (Bill) Seipel of Eau Claire, Brooks (Tracy) Harrison of Eau Claire, Rob (Jen) Harrison of Cameron, WI and Brian (Trisha Edwards) Harrison of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Abby, Erynn “Charlie” and Emma Seipel, Paighton, Hannah, Drew, Hunter, Deklynd, and Marshall Harrison; brother, Dale (Irene) Harrison of MN; sister, Diane (Dick) Miller of MN; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Donna Rasmussen.
Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire.
