Steven J. Giedd, 61, of Mondovi, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010 at his home with his family at his side.

He was born on December 30, 1948 in Eau Claire, WI to Ernest and Madonna (Bleskacek) Giedd. After graduation from Memorial High School in Eau Claire, WI he joined the military where he served for eight years. While in the US Navy he married Maria Lenita. They were later divorced. On July 12, 1982 he married Janet Christenson. After that time he worked at Memorex, Silver Springs, Jennico and at Nestle Co. Steve enjoyed his family, church, running, hand biking, tinkering, watching his son's wrestling, heavy squats, horseback riding and relaxing in his chair in the garage.

He was baptized and received the Holy Ghost at Pentecostal Assembly Church where he was a faithful member until death.

Steve is survived by his wife, Janet; nine children, Charlie (Shaina) Giedd of Eau Claire, Anna Stanton (fiance, Tim Anderson) of Ellsworth, WI, Kevin (Teale) Giedd of River Falls, WI, Tyler (Jen) Giedd of Webster, Maymie (Matt) Perry of Foster, Jordan Giedd of Mondovi, Jennifer Giedd of Hill AFB, UT, Trevor Giedd and Logan Giedd of Mondovi; one grandchild, Hatley Giedd; siblings, Delton (Deb) Giedd, Donna Davey, Bonnie (Wayne) Utter, Mike (Sal) Giedd, Lynda Giedd; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Riley; his parents; and two sisters, Betty Giedd and Carol Millen.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Pentecostal Assembly Church in Eau Claire, WI with Pastor Paul Bennett officiating. Burial will be at the East Pepin Cemetery, rural Mondovi with military rites conducted by the Mondovi Veteran's Group.

Visitations will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the Pentecostal Assembly Church in Eau Claire, WI.
