Thomas Evans

A good cello player and a mean bass man. Tom and I shared a joy with jazz and drank

a bunch of cheap beer and kipper snacks.  Good music, good friend.

Tom Fosha was a friend of mine, although I don't think I ever saw him after high school.  He lived at the corner of Park and Summit.

His family and mine were in a car pool, which also included Trevor Lewis, and some other kids at times.  I'm pretty sure Neva Robinson and Tom York were in it. Parents would take turns driving us to MHS in the morning for a week, and we'd get home on our own.

Tom's father taught music at the university.  I think he was also a jazz bassist.  His car was a light yellow Opel Kadett 2-door wagon -- probably the the smallest, most fuel-efficient car you could carry a string bass in.

Both he and Tom were given to wearing berets.

Tom sometimes came over to my house after school.  He liked to pet our guinea pig.  I think he said he'd had a guinea pig himself when he was younger, although he didn't have one when I knew him.
